Igala settlement down the Niger
Over centuries of trade and expansion down the Niger, Igala people settled on the west bank.
Overview
Over centuries of trade and expansion down the Niger, Igala people settled on the west bank. Igala settlers from Idah founded Ojuwo in Unuedegor, opposite Idah; Ebu, Ilushi and Ifeku still speak Igala, and Illah counts an Igala line among its founders. The owner’s notes add towns deeper in Delta State, Oko, Amai, Ossissa, Onu-Aboh and Obiaruku, with founding or political ties traced to Idah.[2],[3],[7],[1],[4]Medium confidence
