Katsina's kings go to Maradi
Three Sullubawa Fulani leaders received flags from Usman dan Fodio for Katsina.
Overview
Three Sullubawa Fulani leaders received flags from Usman dan Fodio for Katsina. Umaru Dallaji marched from Radda to Banye and Sabon Birni, where he killed Sarkin Katsina Mahmudu. About 30,000 Katsinawa withdrew north to Dankama and failed to retake the city; their king Halidu killed himself in a well. The rest went on into today's Niger and founded Maradi, whose Hausa kings warred on Fulani Katsina for the rest of the century.[1]High confidence
